"Foss kits" allow students to engage in hands-on science activities. Students make use of our schoolyard including our outdoor classroom, the Kathleen Armstrong Peace Garden, and field trips to expand learning. A science specialist collaborates within each classroom to bring science to each grade level.
Classroom teachers develop lessons on local and world history topics in accordance with the social standards for their grade level. Luckily, Boston is rich with history and Conley Elementary teachers capitalize on this fact with field trips to socially relevant sites.
Additionally, the Conley Elementary has partnered with a non-profit called Discovering Justice to bring a greater appreciation for our justice system to students and help them each realize the power of their own voice.
